Custom drop down field improvements

Currently on our checkout page, we have a custom field for industry code that is a drop down. There is no setting for this field to 1) make it required through the UI and 2) have a default text of "select one" or something like that that is not one of the drop down options. We want to make sure they select a valid industry.

  Hi Susan, thanks for the suggestion. We've actually spent the last quarter creating a more modular checkout that allows users more flexibility and control while deciding what to display in the checkout and how to display it. The improvements we're making will support the changes you've requested. You will be able to add custom fields to the checkout, configure the field type, validation, display text, labels, etc, and swap around the ordering of your different fields and functional subcomponents.

  Please note that this will be implemented as a new set of Checkout components, so when we go live nothing about the current Single Page Checkout component will be changing. We've not yet released the enhancements but when we do, Patrick can help show you the new functionality and work with you to implement it if you choose!
