Geographical Routing
Country:
Country for Limio Journey is defined by the customer's IP.
Once you have defined your starting point, you can define your geographical routing:
- On the left, the conditions regulates the conditions the customer must meet to be redirected to the destination Country. In our case we have set out that the customer must have an IP address based in the United Kingdom. Satisfying the conditions then transfers the customer from 'journeytest' to '/uk/journeytest'
- To choose the destination, click on the URL and a pop-up menu will appear that allows you to locate the page you want to direct them to. In our case we have chosen '/uk/student'.
You are done and can now press Save.
Region and Country
⚠️ Region and Country must be activated via Limio Support as the CDN can only support a set number of headers. Please reach out to support@limio.com if you'd like it activated for your environment, specifying all the Limio Journey conditions you will need to use. |
It is also possible to carry out more specific geographical routing based on the region or city a user is based in. Regions are based on the ISO 3166-2 subdivision code (see here for further details) which comprises a two-letter country code and a regional or subdivision code. For example, to target users in the Bayern region of Germany the correct code would be DE-BY .
Additionally, routing can be also done based on the city a user is in. Both examples can be seen below. In this example, users in the city of Manchester would be routed to uk-default page. Meanwhile, used in the Bayern region of Germany (code DE-BY) would be routed to the eu-default page.
